Synopsis

This paper aims to rethink the meaning of ethics by evaluating the ethical phenomena in home care, so as to response to the care practices at home. Thus, we propose the reflection of the perspective of recent clinical ethics. Home care, as involving various contemporary social issues, reveals the fragility and finitude of human beings. With an in-depth understanding of the ethics in home care phenomena from an existential perspective, this paper draws on the conception stemming from Humanistic-clinical Studies (humanistic clinic). Conclusively, we closely approach home care by the concept of “Situated-Yuan”, and suggest apprehending the ethical suffering by the concept of “embodiment”.
