當代儒哲唐君毅先生對於我們當如何建立自己的一套價值標準，從而擺脫他人的毀譽之網的這一問題上，多有創見。這一強調基於良知的所思所想以抗衡流俗毀譽的主張，一方面回應當代的文化問題，另一方面則補足傳統儒家的學說，儼然構成一套特別的慎獨之學。本短文即以唐先生《人生之體驗續篇》中〈俗情世間中之毀譽及形上世間〉一節為討論重心，探討唐先生慎獨之學的理論得失及其相關意義。
