《藝術學研究》由國立中央大學藝術學研究所創立於2006年，每年六月與十二月發行。本刊致力於刊登藝術史、藝術理論、視覺文化領域具原創性之優良學術論文。
本刊自2012年起名列臺灣人文學引文索引核心期刊 (THCI Core)，2016年獲評比為人文學核心期刊 (THCI) 第一級，2021年再度榮獲評比為THCI第一級。
本刊2019年榮獲國家圖書館「臺灣學術資源影響力」知識影響力獎，2022年國家圖書館「臺灣學術資源影響力」期刊即時傳播獎。
本刊歡迎海內外學者投稿。來稿以未曾發表之中英文論文為限，稿件須通過同儕匿名審稿程序和編委會決議之後，始予刊登。

Journal of Art Studies, a biannual journal established in 2006, is published by the Graduate Institute of Art Studies, National Central University in Taiwan. The journal features outstanding and original academic articles on art history, theories of art, and visual culture.
Journal of Art Studies has been included in the THCI Core Journal lists since 2012. In 2021, the journal is again evaluated as a THCI Tier 1 journal.
The National Central Library awarded Journal of Art Studies The Most Influential Academic Resources in Taiwan in 2019 and 2022.
The journal welcomes submissions from both Taiwanese and international scholars. Submissions are limited to unpublished papers written in Chinese or English, which go through a double-blind peer review process and an editorial board review before publication.
Journal of Art Studies is published twice a year, in June and December. It remains open for general submissions year-round. Any current calls for papers for this journal, on a special theme or topic, will be listed in News.
