本文旨在探討薩德侯爵小說中巴洛克風格的圖畫。薩德雖然不是巴洛克時期的作家,但是他深受巴洛克風格的影響,我們可以發現他的小說中借用了許多巴洛克風格的美學技巧。圖畫不僅是情色敘事的核心概念,也是古典主義的重要議題之一。它強調用最荒誕的語言在視覺上所造成的震撼效果。薩德的情色圖畫營造了類似巴洛克風格中的「動勢」與「過度」的效果。藉由動勢與過度,薩德式的圖畫展現了前所未見的視覺效果與情色場景。另外,薩德透過肉體的排列組合與姿勢的不斷變換,去實驗人類從未想像與實踐的快樂極限。肉體組合與哲學論述的辯證關係,使得小說得以無限地開展,而此辯證性正是薩德小說美學的核心。薩德的小說不僅是逾越的書寫,更是圖畫的書寫。
This paper aims to explore the Baroque pictures in Marquis de Sade’s novels. Although Sade was not a writer of the Baroque, the impacts of the Baroque style can still be traced in his works. In fact, Baroque aesthetics abounded in his texts. Pictures not only lie at the core of Sade’s erotic stories but also figure predominantly in classicism. With an emphasis on employing the most fantastic language, Sade created striking visual effects that ignited the recreation of Baroque-like movement and excess. As a result, his pictures presented unprecedented visual effects and erotic scenarios. By means of various body combinations and constant changes of different postures, Sade experimented with the ultimate ecstasy not yet realized and experienced by mortals. Playing a pivotal role in his concept of aesthetics, the dialectic between body combinations and philosophical discourse thus unleashes the novels’ potentials. Indeed, Sade’s novels can be seen as not only the writing of transgression but also the inscription of pictures.
